Great player very good Pro and enjoyed watching him for West Ham gutted when he left but that's what pro's do.
Lived opposite Parsloes park and was also a very good cricketer like many of our players in the past like Jim Standen who played for Worcs in the summer.

Not being of the generation that actually saw him play, I always assumed he was a part of the Holy Trinity and that was that.
The only thing that used to puzzle me was the "10 years ahead of his time" thing. I don't ever remember standing next to anyone and hearing them say "Well fuck me, that's what Martin Peters used to do"

My old man called him the original Judas... he used to see a lot of him and Hursty (car insurance reps) where he used to work... managed to get them to sign a few things .... blimey... I went all Huffers there for a mo... got to admit I don't remember him playing for us at all... would have been only 3 when we swapped him with Greaves...

Great player and one of the "famous five" who helped put The Hammers on the world map so deserves total respect from fans. Gutted when he left but let's be fair even Mooro wanted to leave so it seems there was plenty wrong at the club even back then.
